Shedd Aquarium and Millenium Park

Maddi, Liam, Jack and Cade waiting for the train. We missed the first train which was the Express train so we had to take the next train which was much longer. The kids were quite excited and were quite noisy. We moved cars towards the end to let them walk around and I'm sure the people on our car were quite happy to see us go!
Passing time on the train. They made a "table" with their legs and covered it with newspapers.
Maddi is posing with our favorite creature, the polka dotted sting ray to the bottom right.
We decided to take walk along the lake instead of taking a trolley to Millenium Park. The kids were exhausted by the time we got there. It was chilly by the lake, but very pretty with all the boats.
We stoppped at Buckingham Fountain for a quick rest. Cade thought it was a spray park and wanted to get in.
Our reflection in "the bean". The bean is a really cool huge bean shaped mirror. Doesn't sound so cool, but it is.
Cade loved the fountain or whatever it is at Millenium Park. Maddi and Liam kept complaining that it was too cold, but Cade played in the water the whole time.
This is one of the fountain things that have different faces on them. The faces blink their eyes and open their mouths and then they squirt water out of their mouth. It's very interesting. Now Brett needs to go with us to tell us how they work.
The children's tent had tables to make puppets. Maddi took her time making her puppet. Cade spent about 10 seconds scribbling on a face and then headed over to the hula hoops and ball area. Crafts are Maddi's love and not Cade's thing.
Cade's sporting his hula hoop skills.
Cade catching a ball. We went to Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins afterwards for donut holes and ice cream. If/when we leave this area, that is one place I'll miss. I can never decide if I want ice cream or donuts, so I usually get a few cinnamon donut holes and an ice cream.

Pool on Father's Day

Maddi is squirting the shooter and Cade is getting drenched by falling buckets of water. Yes, Cade is wearing his goggles in the spray park. I don't ask....
Maddi coming down the slide. As you can imagine, the water is pretty cold. They say it's heated but some days I wonder if it really is. I have a hard time getting in water that was a solid block of ice only a few months ago.
Cade coming down the slide. The first few times to the pool Cade went down the slide over and over for almost the whole time we were there.

Dance and t-ball

Maddi had her dance recital a few weeks ago. She loves dance and gymnastics and you know that makes Mommy so happy. She did a great job and didn't have stage fright this time.

Cade is playing t-ball for the first time. He is on the Dodgers. He likes the first inning and then he's asking when it's snack time. He looks cute in his uniform and that's what really matters, right?

Father's Day

So, we are starting a blog so all of our friends and family can know what's going on with Maddi and Cade and ocassionally you'll find out what's going on with their parents as well.

Father's Day was Sunday (duh) and we celebrated by taking a trip to Texas....Roadhouse and ate way too many rolls with cinnamon butter. Then we came home and let our tummies settle and then went to the pool. The kids had fun swimming with Daddy. They love the slide. I will upload the pool pictures soon. So... I've put pictures of the the kids with Daddy instead of the pool because that's how I am. I'll get it done, just not the right way the first time. Happy Father's Day!
