Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning! Cade woke me up at 3:00 am and said he just couldn't sleep anymore because he was so excited. I walked him back to bed and told him to go back to sleep because Santa might not have come yet. He then woke up at 5:15 and stayed in his room until 6:00, which was our agreed time he could come out of his room. Once Maddi and Emalyn were awake, it was time to let the Christmas morning festivities begin.

Before opening any gifts, we read our Christmas Advent book.

I love that Great Omie made all of our stockings!

Emalyn got some chocolate in her stocking and she didn't know it was chocolate but she was very curious about it.

Emalyn is very attached to her baby right now and she was showing Daddy her baby while Maddi and Cade were sorting the presents.

How does this top work?

A pillow pet that's almost as big as she is! On a side note, Cade has adopted Emalyn's pillow pet and has slept with it every night. If Santa knew Cade wanted a pillow pet, he probably would have got one for him!

It was such a beautiful white Christmas with a fresh blanket of white snow.

The kids stayed in their pjs all day and played with their toys.

Then it was time to play in the snow!

Emalyn made an appearance in the snow too after her nap. No tears yet, but she wasn't loving it.

And now the tears...time to go inside!

We worked on making a fort and when it was finished, it was time for a snow ball fight!

They were having a blast while I took pictures from the front door.

Cade got a new snowball launcher and he's ready to use it to atack Brett.

Poor Brett was getting beat up by the kids!




It was a wonderful Christmas. The kids said it was their favorite ever, which they say every year, and I'm always glad to hear. Even though we weren't with extended family, we had a great time with just the 5 of us. It was a day with no where to go and nothing to do but enjoy each other and spend quality time together.
