Emalyn - Day 2

Saturday morning Cade had swimming so Omie took him to that and then Maddi had dance. Then Cade went to a friends and Omie came to the hospital to see baby girl for a while. Brett went home and spent some time with the kids later that day too. The kids had a hard time understanding why they couldn't see me or Emalyn, but Omie and Brett made it as much of a normal day for them as they could.

Cade has always loved swimming and he's thinking he wants to get on the swim team.

I just love smelling and snuggling on new babies. I could eat her with a spoon!

Omie getting her snuggles in with Emalyn. Emalyn seems to be so much stronger than I remember the other kids being, and she's so alert.

Basically by day two Emalyn was doing very well. They ran all kinds of tests on her just to make sure she was healthy. They even did an echo cardiogram to make sure her heart was ok because it was larger than normal in the xrays on her chest (she did have fluid in her lungs, but it was ok). Since Maddi had ASD and VSD they wanted to make sure Emalyn's heart was healty and it is. What a relief. That night they moved Emalyn over to the intermediate care side of the NICU and she was in a regular bed with only a few monitors. They told us she should be able to go home Sunday evening after getting the 48 hour blood test results if they were normal.
