Five on Friday

1. Every now and then we are lucky to have Supergirl visit our house! She got some hand me downs from one of Cade's friends sister and in it was this costume. When I told her there was a Super Girl costume from Abby she was so excited and wanted to know if it had the shoes too. How did she know there were shoes too? Kids amaze me with their smartness. It's fun to see Miss Thing as something other than a princess. She's holding a book that Abby gave her too. Hand me downs are awesome!
2. Look who started preschool yesterday? Emma was so excited about going to preschool but she really wants to be in second grade. I feel like since she's the little sister (although she'll tell you she's a big sister), all she does is wish she was at the next stage all the time, never enjoying where she is at. Brett said he has a daughter who is 12, going on 13 and another daughter who is 3, going on 14. Soooo true!!! Emma seriously acts more like the teenager giving us attitude and thinking she's all that. Thank you Maddi for being so sweet (most of the time).
3. Here is little Emma in her classroom. Her teachers, Mrs. Candace and Mrs. Deana are super sweet. I think she will have a great year. Poor Emma, she's a little slow to warm. Last year she finally was talking to her teachers and then we moved to Texas. She started her new class in January and by the end of the year was talking to her teachers and then school was over. Hopefully she will warm up to these teachers and they can enjoy her the whole year. Emma is especially excited because they do math, science and Spanish at her school like Maddi and Cade do. She asked me if they do "studies" too. I think she meant Social Studies. Seriously, this child is always listening to what's going on around her, she must have heard us talking with M or C about their Social Studies class.
4. This is a horrible picture of me, I had taken my hair out of a pony because it was giving me a headache but...go Aggies! This was Brett and I with Matthew last week while watching the first Aggie game of the season. We are going to A&M this weekend and taking M and C to the game. Emma gets to spend the weekend with Omie. Woohoo! We are all very excited. It also happens to be Brett's 41st birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday Brett!!! We love you sooo much! It's also the one year anniversary of our first steps of getting back to Texas. Brett flew down for an Aggie game on his birthday last year and had his first interview for his current job. I know I for one, am so thankful that it all worked out and we are back in the great state of Texas!
5. A little late, but since I wasn't blogging at the time of Cade's birthday...a picture from Brother Bear's 11th birthday party! We had it at Main Event and they played laser tag twice, did gravity ropes and ate pizza and cake. He had most of his baseball team and other friends there to celebrate. I have to remind myself that Cade is only 11. He looks and often acts older than that. He thinks he knows everything (I'll admit, he knows a lot)and that can be challenging at times, but he is such a great kid. He's smart as a whip, a good friend, a loving brother and son, a great athlete and very responsible. We love you more than all the stars in the sky Cade man! Hope 11 is a great year for you.
