Pam, Brett, Maddison, Cade and Emalyn McDonald: Day 2 and the 4th in MB

Maddi didn't compete any dances on Tuesday, so Brett played golf with some other dads in the morning. We enjoyed some time on our balcony watching the dolphins while eating breakfast. The dark spots in the water are dolphins. There were about 10 of them we kept seeing. So awesome! The kids and I enjoyed a morning at the pool and beach and Cade's friend, Tyler, came over to hang with us since he was staying at a different hotel.

We went up to the convention center to watch Tyler's sister and a few other dancers do their solos and Brett met us there after golf. Then we went to lunch at Abuelo's (so yummy) and then went to Broadway at the Beach. While at Broadway, we went into the Sparkle store and Miss Emalyn found this sparkly leotard. She went nuts over it and refused to take it off after she tried it on, so she wore it the rest of the day. I have no idea what she's doing with her hair but I'm sure she was avoiding posing for a picture for me.

3 most special little people in the world!

Ha. The kids were so embarrassed of Emma in her sparkly leotard and high heel shoes, they wouldn't walk near us.

We sat down for a bit to get a drink and sit in the shade. It was a hot one. Emma loves to fix hair and she was hard at work on putting my hair back in a pony.

Less than one minute after being in the car, Emalyn was CRASHED! Shopping is hard work. She is now wearing a light pink leotard because we realized the hot pink one had tiny holes in the back so we exchanged it and Emma decided she wanted light pink now so it wouldn't have holes. Luckily we noticed the holes while we were still there and were able to exchange it.

We went for ice cream and poor Emalyn slept through the whole thing. She kept talking about wanting sprinkles but she was too tired to know we ever had ice cream. When she later woke up at the hotel, she asked for ice cream with sprinkles but we never told her she had missed our ice cream trip. She was quickly distracted when we told her we could go swimming! After an evening of swimming, that was the end of Tuesday.

Wednesday was the Fourth of July. After dropping the girls and I off at dance, Eric and Brett took Cade, Emma and Avery to play mini golf.

After mini golf, it was back to the convention center where Cade and Kyle passed the time waiting for their sisters to dance.

McKenzie loves Emma and is always trying to get her to talk to her. Emma talked to her and even gave her a hug!

Maddi and I stayed to watch some of the big girls solos. These two call each other sisters and I think they are sort of starting to look like sisters :)

That evening, we ordered dinner from our hotel and then made it a beach night. I was thrilled that by total coincidence, my children had coordinating beach wear on and I got some great pictures!
