8 months!

Little stinker turned 8 months while we were in North Carolina! She is so much fun right now and we are all enjoying watching her grow up. It was quite a busy month with lots of dance, swimming and baseball events and as usual, she was very content and happy. When the crowd cheers, Emalyn cheers too and gets so excited. Some highlites about Emalyn at 8 months:

*She got her third tooth, on her top right.
*She is crawling! She started taking two or three little steps before we left for the Outer Banks. The whole time there we thought she'd take off but she never did. The day we got home she crawled all over our house! She is so stinking cute when she crawls.

Look who's learned to take her handbands off. Sometimes she pulls it off over and over and other times she just leaves it on forever.


*Wearing size 3 diapers, weighs 19 pounds. The girl has some serious chunky thighs and rolls! She actually got some color at the beach and the creases from her fat rolls are so white compared to her tanned skin. Love that Chunka Munka!
She loves to eat and seems to like everything. She'll eat baby food and we are giving her "people" food too and she happily eats whatever we put in her mouth.

*Sleeping from about 7:30 or 8:00 until 6:00 or 6:30. Two or three naps/day, depending on what we're doing that day.
*Some of her favorite toys are her xylophone, dive stick, shape sorter shapes, cups, and everything that makes music.
*We had to lower her crib since she nows sits up in it and tries to pull up. It made me extremely sad to see her "big girl crib".
*She gets so excited when she sees Cocoa or other dogs and she squeals with excitement with her whole body. Cocoa really needs to learn to move out of the way when Emalyn gets near her, how do you teach a dog to do that?
*Emalyn is still not too keen on being away from Mommy or Daddy. She is happy as a lark if we're around but if we leave, she screams and cries. I hope she soon learns that we'll always come back for her, I always feel so badly for the person who's left with my screaming child.
We all love that baby girl so much and can't imagine what our life would be like without her!
