Swimming

We have spent a few weekends at swim meets lately. This little girl ate this donut for a long time at a meet a few weeks ago. It was freaking Brett out because the pink icing was basically melting off the donut and he was holding her the whole time and he was afraid him/Emma would get all messy. Love my OCD neat freak husband!

Cade continues to do very well with swimming. It's such great exercise and he is dropping times off his races at the meets. He's moved up to the 10 and under age group since he's 9 now, but he still is finishing in the top 10 and 20 out of 50 and 60 kids in his races. His strongest stroke is the breast stroke. Here he is doing the freestyle. He does ok with free, but it's not his strongest stroke.

Here is the butterfly. He really struggled with this last year because his arms wouldn't be simultaneous as he tired out and he'd get DQd. Now he doesn't get DQd and he actually does pretty well with his times. We are still learning more and more about swimming as he continues since Brett and I were never on swim team. It's a great sport and I hope he continues to swim.

The nice thing about swim meets is even though they can last a few hours, we get to spend time together between events. I felt like a papparazi taking pictures and seceretly watching my sweet little family hanging out together. I love how they're sitting on the stairs in front of the sign that says "Please stay off the stairs". Rule Breakers!
