She took "baby" out on the balcony to see the ocean.
Emalyn pretty much wanted to be outside when we were in our room. She liked looking at the ocean from afar, but didn't enjoy being at the beach. Sand is not her friend and it's probably all mine and Brett's fault because we are too neurotic and won't let her get dirty.
What a sweet little girl who is looking so big and grown up!
Miss Thing took some big steps on this trip. She didn't have a booster seat to eat at the table and now she refuses to sit in the chair at home too. She thinks she's so big and can sit like us. We all cracked up when she put her feet up on the table so she did this quite frequently. On this trip, she also became less attached to baby. She still wanted to sleep with her and wanted her at times, but she didn't have to have her 24/7. Probably because we wouldn't let her take baby to the pool so she learned to function without baby.
Monday morning Maddi had her first dance of the competition. It was Cookie Time and they did well, getting a platinum and 4th place overall for that day. Monday was also the 4th of July. We hung out at the hotel for the afternoon and evening with other families from dance. This was Cameron (sister of Mackenzie), Maddi, Mackenzie (she's 14 and one of the sweetest dance girls), and Kate (she dances with Maddi).
Maddi is not a big fan of the beach because of the salt water, but she went to the beach for a little bit with her friends.
She was run-ning (said in a Forrest Gump way).
This boy is part fish and can't get enough of the water. He loves the ocean and the pool.

Cade would play in the ocean and swim in the pool all day long and never seem to get tired. Cade enjoyed playing with Tyler (Mackenzie's brother).

These boys loved Emalyn. It's Shea and Brendan (he's a dance brother too). Brendan was pretending to be a pirate with his flashlight. Poor little guy got a nasty stomach bug and ended up in the hospital the next day for dehydration. I was worried Emalyn might have been exposed because they were playing hours before he got sick. Thankfully none of us got the bug.
Maddi was cracking up at herself learning the Hawaiian dance.
We loved our hotel. They had bands at the pool, activities for the kids, entertainment on several nights. The fire guy on the 4th of July was pretty cool!

Brett and the kids found some clams and they boiled them to get them to open up.
And here they are opened. Brett and the kids went down to the beach with friends to watch fireworks. I stayed in the room while Emalyn slept but I did watch some fireworks from the balcony. There were so many fireworks! It was a very fun 4th of July!
