National Champions!

Saturday was the National Web TV contest. The top 10 dances from each category were dancing again, but there couldn't be overlap of any dancers in any category. Our company had the top 2 or 3 dances in each category but could only perform one of the dances because they had overlap of dancers. They were already first place in each category for teen and senior small and large groups. They did so well this year. Maddi was in the teen large group with their whole company, Gorgeous. Any dancers who won first place in their category for solos at regionals were in the opening number for Saturday and one of Nouveaus's dancers, Patience, got to do this. Maddi thinks she walks on water and this is Maddi with the little girls with their idol, Patience, before opening number.

They really made a big deal out of Saturday and made it really special for the dancers. I'm glad we stayed and Maddi could be a part of such a fun day. This is them on the screen cheering for their teen small group dancing to Bird Flu.

And here they are in person.

These are the girls with Jenna in her Bird Flu costume.

The families at Nouveau like to have fun together. Miss Jamie's husband started a clothes pin game one night when they all went to karaoke. They would put clothespins on random people. It turned into clothespins on dance people the rest of the week. The brothers all really got into the clothespin game. Ryan was taking a nap between performances and the boys clothes pinned him. Pretty funny.

Emalyn was having a blast on Saturday. She was dancing and clapping and screaming. The crowds were really into and she got really into it as well.

Pretty girl supporting her sister.

When the whole company danced, the siblings and dads went to cheer for them.

We are the champions!

The whole group with their teachers. It was a great way to end the year.

Emalyn had made fast friends with Shea during the week. She was even willing to give him hugs, not just high 5s.

And even a kiss!

But then she got violent!

We left Myrtle Beach at about 5:30 pm. We decided to drive straight through the night rather than stop in Tennessee. I'm glad we did that because all the kids slept from about 10 until 4 in the morning. At 4, we stopped for gas and Brett got a 5 hour energy drink. The kids and I got a McFlurry. They said that was their best day ever because they had ice cream in the middle of the night. Everyone slept a little more off and on before we got back home after 9:00 a.m. It was a great week and we had some nice family time.
